On July 10, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance (referred to as the "battery Alliance") released the domestic power and energy storage battery sales and loading data in June 2024 and January-June.
Monthly data
Data show that in June 2024, the total output of power and other batteries in China was 84.5GWh, an increase of 2.2% month-on-month and 28.7% year-on-year. This shows that the battery market is still moving forward steadily.
In terms of loading capacity, China's power battery loading capacity in June 2024 was 42.8GWh, an increase of 30.2% year-on-year and 7.3% month-on-month. The loading capacity of ternary battery is 11.1GWh, accounting for 25.9% of the total loading capacity. The loading capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery is 31.7GWh, accounting for 74.0% of the total loading capacity.
Compared with the three-way battery, the lithium iron phosphate battery has won a victory.
In terms of exports, in June, China's total exports of power and other batteries were 18.4GWh, an increase of 33.9% month-on-month, an increase of 67.8% year-on-year, and total exports accounted for 20.0% of sales in the month.
In terms of market concentration, in June, a total of 40 power battery companies in China's new energy vehicle market realized vehicle loading and supporting, which was 3 fewer than the same period last year.
Semi-annual data
In the first half of 2024, China's cumulative production of power and other batteries was 430.0GWh, a cumulative increase of 36.9%.
In terms of loading capacity, the cumulative loading capacity of power batteries in China in the first half of the year was 203.3GWh, an increase of 33.7%. The cumulative loading capacity of ternary batteries is 62.3GWh, accounting for 30.6% of the total loading capacity. The loading capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery is 141.0GWh, accounting for 69.3% of the total loading capacity.
In terms of exports, China's power and other battery exports reached 73.7GWh in the first half of the year, an increase of 18.6%, and the total export accounted for 18.3% of the sales in the first June.
In terms of market concentration, in the first half of the year, a total of 50 power battery companies in China's new energy vehicle market achieved vehicle loading, an increase of 2 over the same period last year.
It is worth mentioning that in the first half of the year, China's semi-solid batteries and sodium-ion batteries were loaded, and the loading capacity of semi-solid batteries was 2154.7MWh, and the loading capacity of sodium-ion batteries was 1.5MWh. The supporting battery enterprises are Weilan New Energy, Ningde Times, Funeng Technology and Zhongke Sodium.
