Recently, the voice of the Chinese Academy of Sciences official announced that the University of Science and Technology of China has developed a new sulfide solid electrolyte for all-solid-state batteries, which has the inherent advantages of sulfide solid electrolytes at the same time, compared with other sulfide solid electrolytes, the cost is lower and more suitable for commercialization.


Earlier on July 4, a report from the Chinese Journal of Science reported that Ma Cheng, a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, had developed a new sulfide solid electrolyte for all-solid-state batteries. Compared with other sulfide solid electrolytes, the material has the inherent advantages of sulfide solid electrolytes, which is lower cost and more suitable for commercialization.


It is understood that solid state batteries are mainly oxide, sulfide, halide three major technical routes, of which the excellent performance of sulfide is the most promising to achieve the practical application of all-solid state batteries.


Previously, SAIC announced that SAIC all-solid-state battery based on polymer-inorganic compound electrolyte technology route, SAIC Qingtao's first all-solid-state battery production line has been approved, planned to be completed by the end of 2025, the first phase of production capacity planning 0.5GWh, the first stage of product energy density can reach 400Wh/kg or more, the second stage will break through 500Wh/kg, Mass production is finally planned for 2026.

According to media reports, Geely CEO Gan Jiayue internally disclosed the progress of Geely's all-solid-state battery research and development at the mid-year business conference. It is reported that Geely's self-developed all-solid-state battery has reached an energy density of 400Wh/kg, and the cell preparation has completed 20AH, or will be the first to achieve release and mass production loading.


Ningde Times, BYD, FAW, SAIC and Weilan new energy and many other well-known enterprises have given the latest solid-state battery-related planning and mass production plan, so far, you can boldly predict that with the progress of technology, the all-solid-state battery era will soon come.
